My pen is broken

  Quick response

If your pen is broken, first identify whether the issue is the nib, the grip/body, or the pen tip mechanism.

  • If only the nib is damaged or worn, replacing the nib usually fixes the issue.
  • If the pen body is cracked or bent, the pen may need to be replaced.
  • If the pen was received damaged, contact support as soon as possible.

Follow the steps below in order, without skipping any.

Important to know

The Supernote pen does not contain a battery
Most "broken pen" cases are due to a damaged nib
Physical damage caused by drops or impact is not covered by standard warranty

Step 1 – Check the nib (most common cause)

Inspect the nib and replace it if needed:

  1. Remove the nib from the pen.
  2. Check if it is bent, chipped, or unusually worn.
  3. Insert a new nib (if available) and ensure it sits properly.
  4. Test writing on your Supernote.

Step 2 – Check the pen body and grip

Look for signs of physical damage:

  • cracks on the body or grip
  • a bent tip area
  • parts that feel loose or do not fit tightly

If the body is cracked or bent, the pen may not work reliably and should be replaced.

Step 3 – If the nib is stuck or does not move normally

If the nib cannot be inserted properly or feels blocked:

  1. Remove the nib.
  2. Check for debris or blockage in the tip area.
  3. Do not force the nib into the pen.
  4. Reinsert the nib gently and test again.

Note

If forcing the nib requires pressure, stop.
Forcing parts may cause additional damage.

What is NORMAL (and not a defect)

  • A nib that wears over time and needs replacement
  • Slight cosmetic marks on the pen body from regular use

When should you contact support?

Only contact customer support if:

  1. the pen was received damaged or broken upon delivery
  2. the pen no longer works after replacing the nib
  3. the nib is stuck and cannot be removed safely
  4. you are unsure which pen model you have and need confirmation

Remember to specify:

  • your device model (A5 X / A6 X / A6 X2 Nomad)
  • your pen model (Standard / HOM Gen 1 / HOM Gen 2 / LAMY)
  • what happened (drop, impact, received damaged, etc.)
  • clear photos of the damaged area (and the nib if possible)
