Quick response
If your stylus is not working properly, it is most often due to:
- ghost writing (the stylus writes without touching the screen)
- a nib alignment issue
- a calibration/accuracy issue
Follow the steps below in order, without skipping any.
Important to know (before troubleshooting) The Supernote stylus does not use a battery No Bluetooth pairing is required Most stylus issues are mechanical rather than electronic
Step 1 – If the stylus writes without touching the screen (Ghost writing)
Try the methods below, then test the stylus again.
Method 1 – Reset the stylus nib
- Hold the stylus vertically.
- Press the nib straight down against a flat, hard surface.
- Push until the nib is fully inserted into the stylus body.
- Release and repeat this action several times.
- Test the stylus on your Supernote.
Method 2 – Reinstall the stylus grip
- Remove the stylus grip.
- Press the nib against a flat surface.
- Reattach the grip securely.
- Test the stylus again.
Tip If ghost writing stops after Method 1 or Method 2, you can skip the remaining steps.
Step 2 – If writing is inaccurate or offset (Calibration)
Calibrate the stylus to improve precision:
- Go to Settings.
- Select Display & Input.
- Tap Stylus.
- Choose Calibration.
- Select Accuracy.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 3 – Restart the device
If the issue persists after Steps 1–2:
- Press and hold the power button for 8–10 seconds.
- Release when the screen turns off.
- Turn the device back on and test the stylus.
What is normal (and not a bug)
- A short adjustment period when switching from paper to E-Ink
- Slight differences depending on writing angle
- Minor variation in pressure sensitivity
If the stylus is physically damaged If the stylus is cracked, bent, or has been dropped heavily, it may need to be replaced.
When should you contact support?
