  Quick response

No, overheating is not considered normal for a Supernote device.

  • A slightly warm device during charging or heavy use can be normal.
  • However, noticeable or persistent overheating should not be ignored.
  • Environmental conditions are the most common cause.

Follow the steps below to identify the cause and prevent damage.

Important to know (before troubleshooting)

Supernote devices are designed to operate within a specific temperature range
Extreme heat, cold, humidity, or dryness can affect performance and battery safety
Overheating may reduce battery lifespan if it continues

Step 1 – Check the environment

Environmental conditions are the most common cause of overheating.

  • Avoid using the device in direct sunlight.
  • Do not leave it inside a car or near heat sources.
  • Avoid extremely hot, cold, dry, or humid environments.

Move the device to a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area and let it rest.

Step 2 – Stop charging and let the device cool down

If the device feels hot:

  • Unplug the charging cable.
  • Stop using the device.
  • Let it cool down naturally for 15–30 minutes.

Do not attempt to cool the device using external cooling methods.

Step 3 – Check usage patterns

Some situations may temporarily increase temperature:

  • long charging sessions
  • using the device while charging
  • large file synchronisation over Wi-Fi
  • extended writing or file processing sessions

After intensive use, allow the device to rest.

What is NORMAL (and not a bug)

  • Slight warmth during charging
  • Mild warmth after long usage sessions
  • Temperature returning to normal after resting

ℹ️ These behaviours are normal and temporary.

When should you contact support?

Contact customer support if:

  1. the device becomes very hot to the touch
  2. overheating occurs in normal indoor conditions
  3. the device overheats even when not charging
  4. the device shuts down due to temperature
  5. the Supernote is new or was received recently

Remember to specify:

  • your device model (A5 X / A6 X / A6 X2 Nomad)
  • when the overheating occurs (charging, idle, syncing, writing)
  • ambient temperature and environment
  • how long the device has been overheating
