  Quick response

Dead pixels cannot be fixed through software or settings and require review by customer support.

  • Dead pixels are a hardware-related issue.
  • There are no user-side troubleshooting steps to repair them.
  • Support assistance is required for evaluation.

Before contacting support, please verify that the issue is truly a dead pixel.

Important to know (before contacting support)

Dead pixels are hardware-related and cannot be repaired by restarting the device
Ghosting or screen afterimages are not dead pixels
E-Ink screens display static images even when powered off

Step 1 – Confirm that it is a dead pixel

Make sure the mark is not caused by ghosting or a frozen image.

  • Refresh the screen using the sidebar gesture.
  • Restart the device.
  • Check whether the same pixel remains visible on different pages.

If the mark stays in exactly the same position at all times, it may be a dead pixel.

Step 2 – Contact customer support

Once confirmed, please contact support for assistance.

Dead pixels require evaluation by our support team to determine the appropriate solution.

What is NOT a dead pixel

  • afterimages that disappear after a screen refresh
  • marks that move when turning pages
  • temporary display artefacts during refresh

When should you contact support?

Contact customer support if:

  1. the pixel remains permanently visible in the same location
  2. the issue is visible on all pages and menus
  3. the device is new or was received recently

Remember to include:

  • your device model (A5 X / A6 X / A6 X2 Nomad)
  • clear photos of the screen showing the dead pixel
  • when you first noticed the issue
  • whether the device was recently received
